Trusting God with Our Finances

It's not about how much money you have, but what you do with it. Do you trust God with your finances?
You and I may be open to advice on our relationships with our family, at work, and recreation, but start telling us how to handle our money, and that's often a different story. Wealth or lack of wealth is one subject guaranteed to generate a response. Whatever your case is, whatever you have, my interest is not how much you have, but what you do with what God has given you. That you trust your finances to God, whether there's a lot or whether there's just a little.

Now the way to understand how you can trust God with your finances is to go right to God's Word and find out what the Bible has to say about it. Find out what the Bible has to say about how you need to trust God with your finances. You know, we get a lot of financial advice today. You can get it from banks. You can get it from financial counsellors. You can get it on—line. You can get it everywhere. But where we need it, is from God's Word.

I want you to see with me, that trusting God with your finances means that you have to believe that God is your "ultimate provider." It's not the bank. It's not your securities. It's not your financial portfolio. It's not yourjob. The ultimate provider of your finances is God Himself. Psalm 104, verse 24, says, "The earth is full of Thy riches," talking about the Lord God. 1 Chronicles 29, verse 11, "Thine, O Lord, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty." Now, listen, "For all that is in the heaven and in the earth is Thine." Haggai, Chapter 2, verse 8, "The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, says the Lord of Hosts."
